The Summer 2012 Collection
LTC: uninhibited, chic, elegant fashion
With this season’s varied choices in materials and cuts, LTC expresses a clear marriage of contrasts between femininity and masculinity.
The collections showcase a pure style with new materials and clever blends of natural fibres. Subversive looks feature a mixing and matching of formal and casual codes that results in elegant simplicity.
The brand mixes materials for more sophisticated results, and raw silk takes the form of a blouse or shortall in vintage tones of pink and beige.
Lace becomes the common thread of a collection inspired by the early 20th century – we find it both in the details of a neckline and on the edge of a raw-silk skirt, or covering the shoulders of an ecru or cobalt-blue light-knit cardigan. English embroidery plays up its femininity in a jacket or overshirt. Worn with denim overalls for a tomboy twist, it awakens the seductive power of lace.
The duality of the female dandy look also makes an appearance in a faux-suede blazer, the sleeves rolled up to reveal a Liberty-print lining. The Liberty print becomes the default feminine pattern; seen in a wrap dress or inside sleeves and pockets, the famous print reveals itself with great modesty.
Hand-knit styles are a must-have. When the colours are natural, they can be taken to the extreme. In a long cardigan version with a low-slung belt or a short mini-sweater, the weave will be outrageously open and intentionally oversized.
And for a simple, harmonious look, bright colours take the spotlight in slubbed cotton and silk tops worn with jeans and a black jacket.
